WHY FOUR WAVELENGTHS?

 

Different wavelengths allow the specialist to tailor the laser settings more precisely to individual skin and hair characteristics.

 

However, four wavelengths do not mean that laser treatment is equally effective on every hair colour.

 

Results depend, among other factors, on the amount of pigment in the hair. Darker, more heavily pigmented hair generally responds better to laser treatment. Very light, grey and red hair may respond significantly less or may not respond at all.

 

That is why, before starting a course of treatments, we assess your skin and hair and discuss what results can realistically be expected.

HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?

 

Before treatment

 

Hair in the treatment area should be shaved according to your specialist’s instructions.

 

Before treatment and throughout the course, hair should not be removed from the root with waxing, sugaring or tweezers, as the laser targets pigment in the hair within the follicle.

 

During treatment

 

Pigment in the hair absorbs the laser energy, which is converted into heat. This heat acts on structures within the hair follicle involved in future hair growth.

 

Treatment settings are adjusted individually according to your skin, hair and the area being treated.

 

After treatment

 

Treated hairs do not disappear immediately. Over the following days and weeks, they gradually shed.

 

Following a course of treatments, hair growth may be significantly reduced, while remaining hairs may become finer and less dense.

 

Results and the degree of reduction vary from person to person.

WHY IS A SERIES OF TREATMENTS NECESSARY?

 

Body hair is in different stages of the growth cycle at any given time.

 

Laser treatment is most effective on hairs that are in the active growth phase, which is why it is not possible to target every hair in a single session.

 

Further treatments are scheduled at individually determined intervals, depending on the treatment area and how the hair responds to previous sessions.

 

This is why laser hair removal is a process requiring a series of treatments rather than a single appointment.
